welcome

Welcome to this blog! This is the place where I, Jeannette Talesbury, an app enthusiast and reviewer and special needs children’s teacher, will provide you with detailed and relevant information about the best educational and fun apps and games for kids.

As its name suggests, this blog aims to give all of you, my precious readers, honest and professional feedback about a diverse selection of children’s apps and games. Being an expert educator for several decades already, I have recognized the growing demand for and benefit from incorporating mobile technology in the learning process from an early age.

I believe that, when properly administered, mobile apps and games are excellent tools to accomplish our educational goals more efficiently and with greater success rather than when solely relying on traditional learning methods. I have seen digital technology make a huge difference in how different groups of children learn and develop in life. These include kids with special needs, homeschooled children, and learners who experience distance and hybrid educational models.

So, in a nutshell: The purpose of this blog is to guide all of you – professional educators, parents, guardians, and even young learners who might be reading this – to find the best mobile apps and resources that will help you achieve and outperform your learning and development goals.

What Kinds of Articles Do You Publish?

This is an easy one to answer. I mostly publish reviews although you might also encounter articles containing useful tips and tricks as well as links to themed readings and support groups. My reviews come in several major categories including but not limited to:

Apps for Children with Special Needs

Mobile technology and the Internet have truly revolutionized the way children throughout the entire spectrum of special needs learn. Thanks to the numerous inventions of the past few decades, what had previously seemed unimaginable is now entirely possible. Kids with a wide variety of special cognitive and physiological needs today have the chance to develop and learn much like their peers.

As a special needs children’s educator myself, I have dedicated most of my career to studying, experimenting with, and successfully applying different learning tools. That is why, the greatest part of my reviews includes mobile apps and games of this kind. My goal here is to advance the cause of educating children with special needs and helping them become fulfilled society members.

General Educational Apps and Games

Educational apps and games have been around since the early days of computers and the Internet. However, they really took off with the rise of smartphones. The global COVID-19 pandemic also gave a significant push to the evolution of these tools.

That said, not all educational apps and games are created equal. Therefore, my mission is to help you find the right ones without having to spend an overwhelming amount of time, energy, and money browsing and testing yourselves.

Fun Apps and Games

Children develop and learn through play. Nowadays, there is tons of research demonstrating why the gamification process is important in all areas of children’s development. That is why I frequently review apps and games that allow your children and students to have fun while also learning new things.
