Dear educators and learners,
I am so happy to have you on the pages of my app enthusiast blog! This is the place where I will review the best mobile apps and websites for children. You can use these tools for fun and educational purposes. Hopefully, I can help you create a wholesome, fulfilling, and pleasant learning process.
Before we go on, let me tell you a little bit about myself and my intentions about this blog.
My name is Jeannette Talesbury, and I am a special needs children’s educator. Throughout my career of more than 30 years, I have taught kids of all ages, who have had a wide variety of learning challenges and needs.
I find teaching to be my passion and vocation. I also believe that learning is a lifelong process. That is why you can often find me at specialized seminars, conferences, courses, and other similar events.
I strive to keep up with the latest trends in learning and education. Thus, I very early embraced the power of the Internet and mobile technology as strong forces to propel the learning process forward. Over time, I have adopted multiple educational apps, platforms, and tools in my everyday work.
While some people view mobile technology as a threat to the proper development of kids, I believe the contrary. When used with the appropriate discretion, many of today’s specialized digital tools can actually become beneficial to young learners.
True, it is an absolute necessity to control your child’s screen time and to encourage them to pursue meaningful activities in the real world. However, I am a firm believer that the modern-day mobile industry offers limitless opportunities to young learners and their parents and educators. Some of them might not be otherwise available in the physical realm. This is especially true for the tools that target special needs students, homeschoolers, and distant learners.
Having that in mind, I invest a lot of time and energy in researching useful apps for kids of all ages. I only present the best ones here, which is why you will often find articles whose titles contain the words “top” and “best.”
As you will see, I craft my reviews carefully and try to cover all aspects of a mobile app or website. I am open and honest in presenting each tool’s advantages and improvement areas. A crucial part of my philosophy is to be entirely sincere in order to be truly helpful to my readers.
Back in the day, there were not many resources I could use to evaluate the qualities of a certain app or platform. I had to test everything on my own. Needless to say, that cost me a lot of time and effort. I wish I had a blog like this one to help me. That is why, moving forward, it is my greatest desire to assist others and make their learning journeys easier and worthwhile.
